Hornbill announces winners of the first Hornbill STARS during annual User Group at Twickenham Stadium

October 20th, 2011 -- Hornbill Service Transformation Awards to Recognise Success were launched this year to celebrate customer achievements

This year the Hornbill User Group (HUG) was the platform for the announcement of the first ever Hornbill STARS winners.  The HUG, which took place at Twickenham Stadium, is an annual customer event with an agenda which includes customer speakers, Hornbill product updates and panel discussions.

The inspiration behind the launch of the Hornbill STARS was the desire to recognise and reward those Hornbill customers whose hard work and passion delivers value to their organisations that is sometimes unrecognised, or at least not celebrated enough.

This year's winners, judged by a Hornbill judging panel alongside guest judge Malcolm Fry, were:

• Individual Award - James Pitcher, Skanska
• IT Service Desk Award - London Borough of Merton
• Business Desk Award - University of Glasgow
• Supportworks Project of the Year Award - PRS for Music (with special recognition for Nick Fisk)

The Supportworks Project of the Year award was chosen from all of the award entries.  PRS for Music were chosen because the nomination demonstrated an outstanding example of ingenuity, knowledge and expertise that allowed the IT team to deliver real value back to their business.

Pat Bolger, Chief Evangelist at Hornbill, said: "All of the awards entries received were of an extremely high standard; it made the judging very difficult as all were notable examples of ITSM achievement. Thank you to everyone who entered this year's awards.  They all deserve to be congratulated for the amazing work they are doing every day to deliver excellent IT support and customer satisfaction to their organisations."
